Keep the Lights On

Roles: Narrative design, writing, puzzle design, placeholder art.

Keep the Lights On is a horror themed puzzle platformer in development. You play as Edmund Rosental, a private detective, who receives a mysterious job offer to go investigate a derelict abbey.

Starting off as a quick prototype for school, we fell in love with the game and decided to continue developing the idea further.

For this project, I am responsible for all writing and narrative design, including story and dialog. On top of that, I also did some level and puzzle design.

You can try the demo for the game here.

Demonic Delight

For this project, I was responsible for all writing and narrative design, including story and dialog. On top of that, I also did some level and puzzle design.

Roles: Narrative design, writing.

A mix of visual novel and side scrolling platformer game created as an international free time project.

The game follows Cheri, a young baker and fledgling demon hunter, as she is introduced to a wider and deadlier world.

For this project I took part in a writing team consisting of multiple people. My task was to take part in writing a script for the game, and helping to create the narrative. This project taught me a lot about working in a writing team, and the ability to edit text to fit narrative changes.

Demo and the full script for the game is available here.

Cheese Full

Roles: Narrative design, writing, game design.

Adventure puzzle game created for the global game jam 2021, with the theme “lost and found”.

You play as a cheese who’s fallen on the floor, and is looking to get back to their sandwich.

I took part in the design process by helping come up with the idea for the game, helping to design the characters and puzzles, and creating the narrative and writing all the dialog.

You can play the game here.

Home Invasion

Roles: Narrative design, writing, level design, audio design.

Tasked with creating a small, functional game with the theme of "home", this school project was completed in three days with my partner Nicole Winqvist.

As the author of the story, I chose to explore the concept of seeing your home as a safe place - and then violating it.

The game was created using Construct 3 and is currently available at itch.io.

Bio

Naamaaa.jpg

Born in 1992, I've always lived in a world filled with games. Perpetually curious, I'm always looking for new gaming experiences - from board games to console, mobile and beyond!

As a developer, I'm especially passionate about narrative design and how games can be used to tell meaningful stories - particularly from the player's point of view.

When I'm not gaming or designing stuff, I enjoy reading, watching Korean thrillers and making myself sweat at the gym.

I'm confident that my writing skills and creative mindset will produce great results in the future.
